The Program Manager will be responsible for supporting Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation’s Stewards of the Wild (SOTW) Program, including managing local volunteer chapters. Reporting to the Director of Conservation Engagement and Education, this position will support the effective operations of this program with a focus on fundraising, event planning, and overall program success. This position is based in Austin, Texas.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Oversee eight local chapters and regular communication with volunteer leadership to ensure progress of monthly programming, event success, successful leadership identification and transitions, and membership growth.
  • Identify appropriate vendors, resources, and special guests for monthly chapter programming.
  • Assist with chapter and statewide donor development and solicitation in partnership with the Director of Conservation Engagement and Education.
  • Attend and speak at events hosted by chapters across the state to build meaningful relationships with volunteer leaders and members.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Conservation Engagement and Education and other staff as needed on planning, leading, and hosting statewide program events and initiatives.
  • Manage back-office efforts, including Wild Apricot membership software, Google Suite, social media, and monthly program communications.
  • Support the launch of new chapters across the state, including leadership assembly, program development, and member recruitment.
  • Provide support for other TPWF staff and projects as needed.
Preferred background and skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, Google Suite, Dropbox and Canva is a plus.
  • Ability to learn new software efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to handle an extensive and diverse workload while maintaining a positive perspective.
  • A strong work ethic, sense of urgency, attention to detail, and ability to think independently.
  • Ability to interface with individuals at every level of an organization, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to, plan for, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, integrity, and sense of humor.
Office Location and Benefits

TPWF has offices in Dallas (Headquarters) and Austin, and this position will be based in the Austin office. The Program Manager will be eligible to accrue vacation in the first year of employment, and receive ten paid sick days, in addition to all staff holidays.
