The City of Austin Ameri Corps VISTA Program partners with City departments and local nonprofits to build capacity, in order to provide resources and services to the Austin neighborhoods and communities that may otherwise be left behind by Austin's historic disparities and future growth. The Ameri Corps members in the City of Austin Ameri Corps VISTA Program serve in such diverse fields as education, health, environmental quality, and homeless services to cover the myriad ways poverty affects these neighborhoods and communities.
MemberDuties
Research current volunteer and community engagement programming to determine how they address education, workforce, and development, and community disparities, as well as identify future Visitor Center needs. Develop relationships with priority stakeholders and develop recruitment strategy for engagement and volunteering. Execute initial stages of Community Engagement Plan and research County and stakeholder resources and partners to complement our plan and goals of workforce development.
