The Chapters and Networks Coordinator supports the department through the coordination and implementation of programs and projects that deeply engage alumni. They serve as a liaison between the association and its domestic chapters, affinity networks, and international alumni.
The Chapters and Networks Coordinator is charged with securing commitments from alumni to volunteer for administrative offices (including Admissions, Development, the International Office, and Student Services) and various schools and colleges within University of Texas to foster greater alumni participation.
Major Job Functions
- Serve as liaison to the Hispanic Alumni Network, Black Alumni Network, Pride Network, and all other non-geographic networks
- Provide administrative support and direction to volunteers
- Collaborate with other staff members, volunteers, and university faculty/staff on events
- Work with chapter and network volunteers and the Texas Exes Communications department to produce both printed and digital promotional materials
- Assist with planning and executing Chapter and Network Leadership Conference and Chapter and Network Leader Forum
- Represent the Texas Exes at chapter and network events throughout the year as needed
- Thinking “big picture” about growing our membership base through chapter and network engagement
- 1-2 year’s work experience
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills to assist the work of volunteers
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
- Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
- General technical proficiency and ability to streamline business processes
Other Skills/Abilities/Success Factors
- Ability to attend evening and weekend events, and travel occasionally to geo markets across the country representing Texas Exes
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, database management, and web administration maintenance
- Experience with event planning, fundraising, and volunteer management
