Nonprofit Offering Aid To People Experiencing Homelessness
The Chief Development Officer is a new position, serving on TOOF's Executive Leadership Team at a pivotal moment of organizational growth. As TOOF prepares for an extensive expansion in emergency shelter services over the next three years, this role will lead the strategic visioning and execution of a robust philanthropic giving program needed to sustain TOOF’s next chapter of impact. The position is responsible for building the systems, culture, donor relationships, and communications infrastructure necessary to grow philanthropy, deepen stakeholder investment, and position TOOF as a leading community-based response to homelessness in Central Texas.
The position owns the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy for external relationship management, including philanthropy, donor engagement, marketing, branding, and communications. This scope does not include government affairs, legislative advocacy, or public-sector contract management. This position is supported by a Communications Manager, r esponsible for the execution of a strategic communications plan and the Hospitality, Engagement Manager, who is responsible for executing on recurring and mid-level gift programs and a contracted grant writer.
With the support of the Executive Team, and an engaged Board of Directors, the Chief Development Officer will translate TOOF’s growth, impact, and vision for Esperanza II into clear, compelling narratives that inspire philanthropic investment, strengthen stakeholder confidence, and build broad public understanding of TOOF’s mission and model.
Fund Development StrategyDevelop and execute a comprehensive multi-year fund development strategy, aligned with organizational goals and strategic priorities. This plan should include a diversified revenue portfolio including individual donors, foundations, corporations, faith communities, events, sponsor ships, and planned giving.
- Create and oversee annual fundraising plans, campaign strategies, and donor pipeline development, from a diversified revenue portfolio.
- Establish revenue forecasts and performance metrics to monitor fundraising trends and identify emerging opportunities for growth.
Personally manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects, using customized engagement plans to achieve transformational gifts.
- Lead solicitation efforts for six-figure and seven-figure philanthropic investments, building prospect profiles and strategic cultivation plans.
- Build strategic relationships with foundations, corporate leaders, philanthropists, and community partners, serving as a senior ambassador and spokesperson for TOOF.
- Lead preparation and execution of major fundraising initiatives and capital campaigns.
- Develop campaign strategies, infrastructure, and prospect pipelines, utilizing external resources as appropriate.
