Job Summary The Associate Director for Congregational Innovation is a full-time hybrid position that works to further the aims of The 787 Collective, an initiative for young adults and congregations, and Houses of Hope, a process for building hope among rural congregations. We are looking for someone whose faith and curiosity compels them to participate in the changing church, and who is relational, comfortable in emerging systems, and able to move toward goals working with others.

This position requires creativity, collaboration, and confidence in the process of developing digital and in-person experiences for and with young adults and congregations in rural and small-town contexts. This is a full-time position funded by a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. This position has an end date of December 2027.Essential Function and Responsibilities Establish connections with congregations

Foster relationships with young adults and expand the network of The 787 Collective Recruit and oversee the emergence of young adult groups in various cities.

Create and implement learning opportunities and faith formation experiences

Coach congregations through the Houses of Hope process

Recruit, train, and manage regional representatives to broaden the network of Houses of Hope Create and manage resources through social media, podcasts, and digital platforms

Support the Director in programmatic work as requested

Work closely with STEP Program Coordinator in information management

Work closely with the Seminary’s communications team for promotion

Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree:
Master’s degree preferred
• Experience in Mighty Networks is a plus
• Ability to multitask with the upmost accuracy
• Solid work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a “team-player” attitude
• Great listening, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
