Position: Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant

Community health clinic that specializes in HIV testing and treatment, PrEP services, and gender-affirming care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate care to adult patients, focusing on HIV treatment and prevention, Hepatitis C treatment, and gender affirming care, including prescribing and managing medications and developing individualized care plans.
  • Manage a diverse patient population, with a strong emphasis on sexual health and wellness, harm reduction, and holistic care.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of various conditions within your scope of practice.
  • Educate patients on sexual health, harm reduction, HIV prevention, and Hepatitis C care, while fostering a non-judgmental, inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with a team of dedicated providers in a supportive, queer-forward, and sex-positive clinic.
  • Maintain patient caseloads, averaging 1-2 patients per hour with 30-60 minute slots.
  • Participate in a mobile clinic rotation with other providers to ensure broad access to care.
  • Engage in community outreach and advocate for sexual health education and resources in the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.
Requirements
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) with prescribing authority.
  • 1+ year of experience in HIV treatment is preferred;
    Hepatitis C care experience is a plus.
  • AAHIVM Certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of sexual health, harm reduction principles, and inclusive care practices.
  • Comfort with diverse, often sensitive patient scenarios, including sexual health discussions and care for patients from marginalized communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from all backgrounds.
  • Passion for supporting LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities in accessing healthcare without stigma.
