UT Health Austin is seeking an experienced and collaborative Registered Nurse (RN) Manager to lead day-to-day clinical operations within our Ambulatory Clinics. This role is ideal for a nurse leader who thrives in operational leadership, quality improvement, staff development, and cross-functional collaboration while maintaining a strong commitment to exceptional patient care!
What You’ll Do Clinical Operations Leadership- Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure efficient, patient-centered care delivery
- Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies and operational procedures
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
- Support continuous operational improvements across clinical departments
- Supervise, mentor, and support clinical staff
- Lead hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management activities
- Foster a collaborative, professional, and inclusive work environment
- Coordinate staff training and professional development initiatives
- Monitor quality metrics and patient care outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives
- Implement corrective actions and process enhancements as needed
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation
- Assist with departmental budgeting and resource planning
- Monitor expenditures and support cost-effective operations
Allocate staffing and operational resources to meet departmental goals - Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, and operational stakeholders
- Facilitate communication between clinical and administrative teams
- Represent the department in meetings, committees, and organizational initiatives
- Support special projects and operational priorities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 5+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 7+ years of clinical nursing experience
- Leadership certifications such as:
- Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML)
- Nurse Executive-Board Certified (NE-BC)
