Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to obstetric patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns throughout their labor, delivery, and postpartum experience. This position requires expertise in fetal monitoring and obstetric procedures, operating on a 13-week travel contract with 12-hour night shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Administer nursing care to obstetric patients, monitoring fetal and maternal health status.
- Perform and interpret fetal monitoring, including external and internal assessments.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist with obstetric procedures such as C-sections, SVD, cerclages, and TOLAC.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and clinical findings in EMR.
- Adhere to unit policies, safety protocols, and equipment standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Hold an active RN license with at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
- Certified in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring competencies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in SVE, internal monitor placement, and circulation for C-sections.
- Experience working in high-volume Level IV units preferred.
- Possess excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
