Infusion Nurse Practitioner

Metro Infusion Center (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner for supervision and administration of infusion therapy on a full‑time (M‑F) basis to work at the clinic located in Austin, TX
.

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial‑a‑flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system.
• Address patient’s questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment etc. within scope of Mid‑level provider.
• Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs, establishing priorities.
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Support professional practice by observing the following: Use knowledge and practices in accordance with
  1) Standards of Nursing Practice;
  2) JCAHO, state and local laws;
  3) MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid APRN.
• At least two years NP office practice experience, preferably in an infusion‑related practice.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID‑19).
