Travel RN - Neonatal ICU

Position Overview

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Level 3/4 NICU position in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience and current NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certification.

• Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) and NRP Advanced 9th Edition (American Academy of Pediatrics card required)
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• Minimum 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Level 3/4 NICU in a large hospital setting with 97 beds and approximately 200 staff members
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 3–4 patients per RN
• Staff mix consists primarily of RNs with one unit clerk per shift
• Equipment used includes Medfusion pumps, Alaris pumps, Giraffe isolettes, and GE monitors
• EMR systems: CPN and Meditech
• No on-call requirements
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Navy scrubs are required; no nail polish or artificial nails permitted
• Preferred candidates will have prior travel nursing experience — first-time travelers are less competitive for this role
