Austin Oaks Hospital is an 80-bed facility offering a broad spectrum of psychiatric services for adults and adolescents. Position Summary

The Nurse Manager is the assistant to the DON and is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with established standards of care, mental health practice, and hospital policy. The role supports the hospital's philosophy and objectives, supervises House Supervisors, RNs, and MHTs, monitors staffing needs, assists in training events, provides coverage as needed, and participates in Treatment Team meetings.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred: BSN.
  • Current Texas State Registered Nurse license.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date.
  • Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health care setting, staff education experience, 24-hour shift staffing experience, thorough knowledge of JCAHO, HCFA, OSHA, and state/federal regulatory requirements.
