Position Overview
Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse – LPN/LVN
Location:
New Braunfels, TX
Schedule:
2–4 shifts per week (6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
- Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
- Continuously observe and assess patient condition, reporting changes to the supervisor and/or physician as appropriate.
- Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and coordination of care in a timely manner.
- Participate in, implement, and update the nursing care plan.
- Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.
- Recognize changes in patient needs and respond with interventions to prevent or reduce risk.
- Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Provide care using infection control measures that protect staff and patients per OSHA standards.
- Educate the patient and family regarding disease processes, self‑care techniques, and prevention strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of nursing competencies through educational programs and continuing education.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification with a hands‑on component.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing policies.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and reposition patients without assistance.
- South Carolina – One year of pediatric experience.
- California – One year of experience under an active nursing license.
- Louisiana – One year of experience as a licensed nurse.
- Continuing education required as specified by each state.
- Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical setting.
- Home health experience.
- Attention to detail

- Good organizational and communication skills
- Speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Travel as required.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and reposition patients without assistance.
- Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
- Sit and climb stairs.
- Have visual and hearing acuity, strong sense of smell and touch.
- Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport.
- Functional in varied environments, possibly exposed to allergens and other conditions.
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
