Job Summary:
Seasonal - Contract - RN - LABOR AND DELIVERY (708) - 13 WEEKS - 7:00P-7:00AP provides expert nursing care for patients in labor and delivery, supporting safe, evidence-based maternal-fetal outcomes. The role emphasizes continuous fetal monitoring competency and readiness to assist with complex intrapartum procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assess laboring patients and monitor maternal and fetal status using intermediate fetal monitoring techniques.
- Perform internal and external fetal monitoring, including EFM setup and interpretation support.
- Manage labor progression and document clinical findings in the EMR (Meditech).
- Assist with vaginal delivery, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLAC-related patient care workflows.
- Maintain readiness for emergency response through ACLS/BLS/NRP-compliant practice.
- Coordinate care with charge leadership and interdisciplinary teams to meet patient ratio standards.
- Hold an active RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Maintain NRP certification and demonstrate STABLE competencies for maternal-fetal risk.
- Demonstrate NRP, EFM, and internal monitor placement competency.
- Perform SVE competency and support C-section circulation requirements.
- Bring at least 1-2 years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery, with 2+ preferred.
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment in a high-acuity, high-volume L&D environment.
- Build advanced intrapartum skills across a wide range of labor and delivery procedures.
- Work within a structured unit team while strengthening EMR documentation proficiency.
