About Austin Oaks Hospital:
Austin Oaks Hospital offers a continuum of psychiatric services for adolescents and adults on a thirteen‑acre oak‑lined campus in South Austin, Texas. The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services designed to stabilize symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other behavioral health disorders while fostering a home‑like environment that promotes crisis resolution, positive self‑awareness, social skills, and personal growth.
Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) – Days
:
- Respond to incoming calls to coordinate referrals and admissions.
- Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
- Ensure all inquiries, referrals, and admissions are accurately documented in the computer system and that notes regarding referrals and upcoming admissions are recorded on proper forms.
- Verify that referral patient medical record information is complete and that nursing and clinical staff are fully informed of the patient’s condition/history.
- Distribute and prepare referral material for unit charts as required.
- Assess, direct, and intervene in crisis situations.
- Lead and direct mental health technicians.
- Contribute to treatment plans as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician.

Sign‑On Bonus: $3,000
Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Licensed by the Board of Nursing Examiners for the State of Texas (or licensed in a compact state).
- One year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
- CPR and hospital de‑escalation certifications obtainable during orientation.
- Must complete new‑hire requirements including a nationwide background check and pre‑employment drug screen.
- State and Federal Office of the Inspector General check.
- Mon‑Fri: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Shift 1) – $4.00
- Mon‑Fri: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Shift 2) – $2.25
- Mon‑Fri: 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (Shift 3) – $4.00
- Sat‑Sun: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Shift 4) – $4.00
- Sat‑Sun: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Shift 5) – $6.00
- Sat‑Sun: 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (Shift 6) – $6.50
