The Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.
- Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes; ensure adherence to standards of care.
- Support efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost; foster a culture of accountability and transparency.
- Achieve internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain equipment according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards.
- Manage admissions and discharge processes for efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Facilitate effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments; assign staff with appropriate clinical competencies to meet patient care needs.
- Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience; instill accountability for consistent, positive patient interactions.
- Review and analyze feedback mechanisms to identify opportunities to improve customer and patient satisfaction; implement strategies to elevate the patient experience.
- Leverage evidence-based practices that enhance patient experience and customer service.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other leaders to create a teamwork environment that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Identify development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification within 90 days of employment start date.
- BSN with at least 1 year of experience in healthcare.
- At least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Specialty certification within 6 months of hire.
- Current licensed registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or an active compact license; transient or non‑Texas compact license holders must obtain a Texas RN license within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Labor & Delivery certification such as NRP, FHM, or RNC‑OB preferred.
