PRN Infusion RN

Overview

We are looking for someone who can work 2 days per week on Thursday and Friday. This position can be a level 1, 2, or Sr based on candidate experience.

This position offers a sign on bonus of $2,500.00.

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs.

Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
• Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
• Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique.
• Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
• Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
• Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

Level 1

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• 0-3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• IV experience preferred.

Level 2 (in Addition To Level 1 Requirements)

• 3-5 years nursing experience.
• Oncology certification preferred.

Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements)

• Five years nursing experience.
