Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse Outpatient Bone Marrow Transplant, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn – whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. • Consider age related factors in the assessment, care, and treatment of the oncology patient.
• Consider principles of death and dying when caring for terminally ill oncology patients.
• Provide emotional, spiritual, religious, and cultural support to patients and their significant others.
• Apply principles of oncology nursing.

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.

• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider – preferred.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification – preferred.
