Well Med Medical Group, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Austin Provider Float Team in the South Austin area. As a member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you will play an integral role in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care with the clinical resources and support of a global organization.

Position Highlights
  • Practice with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers
  • Model designed to provide efficient, comprehensive, and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient at each visit
  • Quality‑vs‑Quantity model – typically see 14 to 16 patients per day
  • Patient panel is predominantly geriatrics with Medicare Advantage coverage
  • Bonus incentives based on quality metrics

Required Qualifications
  • Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Credentialing Center, or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Current licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or the Texas Medical Board
  • Valid DEA license or ability to obtain one prior to employment
  • 1+ year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare‑aged patient population
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working understanding and support of a managed care environment
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
