POSITION SUMMARYThe Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care and independent or collaborative medical services. This role offers comprehensive patient care including diagnosis, treatment, and patient education within the scope of NP licensure and organizational policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
- Diagnose acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice
- Develop and implement treatment plans in accordance with medical protocol
- Prescribe medications and medical treatments as authorized
- Perform procedures within scope of NP licensure
- Maintain comprehensive patient medical records
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care
- Provide patient education and health promotion
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Refer patients to specialists as needed
- Support referral source relationship building
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives
- Maintain current clinical knowledge and certification
- Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Current active RN license required
- Current NP certification from a national certifying body required
- Valid prescriptive authority license/DEA number required
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience preferred
- Advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills
- Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of pharmacology and treatment protocols
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Strong commitment to evidence-based practice
- Proficiency with electronic health records
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to professional development and continuing education
