We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our inpatient palliative care team. In this specialized role, you will provide comprehensive, consultation-based palliative care services to patients and families facing serious, life-limiting illnesses within the hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Consultations:
    Conduct comprehensive palliative care assessments, including detailed symptom management, physical exams, and psychosocial evaluations for hospitalized patients.
  • Complex Communication:
    Lead and facilitate challenging family meetings, goals-of-care conversations, and difficult end-of-life and medical decision-making discussions with clarity and empathy.
  • Care Coordination:
    Serve as a vital bridge between the primary hospital care teams, specialists, patients, and families.
  • Interdisciplinary

    Collaboration:

    Work seamlessly alongside hospitalists, specialists, social workers, and chaplains to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Licensure:
    Must hold an active, unencumbered license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Texas.
  • Certification:
    Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist (e.g., AGACNP, FNP, ACGNP or CNS).
  • Authority:
    Active Texas prescriptive authority and DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
  • Future Certification:
    Must achieve a recognized Palliative Care / Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN) certification within two (2) years of joining the practice.
  • Exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a proven ability to navigate high-stress clinical situations.
  • Participation in our on-call pool providing after hours support and weekend in person rounding on GIP patients.
  • Preferred:
    Minimum of 1–2 years of dedicated experience in Hospice or Palliative Care nursing or advanced practice.
  • Strong background in acute care, geriatrics, or intensive care environments.
