Med Vet Critical Care Veterinary Assistant

Work schedule:

Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Med Vet is a fast‑growing Emergency and Specialty provider with practices throughout the country. We provide advanced medical treatments—chemotherapy and radiation, cardiac ablations, glaucoma therapies, physical rehabilitation, dermatology, and more. We’re looking for collaborative, driven people to join our clinical team.

What you’ll do
  • Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather additional information as necessary.
  • Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
  • Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing concerns.
  • Provide client education, including home‑care instructions, medication indications and adverse reactions, and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
  • Assist the DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures.
  • Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
  • Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
  • Perform in‑house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.
Who you are
  • Prior veterinary experience required; previous Critical Care, Nursing, or Emergency experience desired.
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant‑rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
  • Flexible with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
