ScheduleFull‑time. Monday‑Thursday or Tuesday‑Friday 7:30am‑5:30pm. One Saturday per month and on‑call duties required.
CompensationNegotiable based on experience and credentials. Expected starting range: $24‑32 per hour. Final pay considers skills, qualifications, experience, and location. On‑call procedures may earn bonuses.
About YouAs a Surgery Technician, you’ll support board‑certified surgeons with procedures, diagnostics, recovery, and anesthesia monitoring while maintaining a safe, sterile workflow. You’ll also assist with day‑to‑day hospital operations, provide excellent patient and client care, and support your team through both technical and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians in delivering high‑quality care, advocating for pets, and educating clients.
- Maintain accurate medical charts, obtain client history, and ensure efficient patient flow.
- Perform blood draws, radiographs, Doppler blood pressure checks, and catheter placements.
- Induce, maintain, and recover anesthesia following surgical suite protocols.
- Greet clients, take history and vitals, and provide clear post‑procedure care instructions.
- Ensure clean, sterile environments, safe restraining techniques, and proper disposal of medical supplies.
- Explain long‑term care plans and provide compassionate support for pet owners.
- Support supervisors and teammates with assigned daily, weekly, and monthly tasks while maintaining a clean practice.
- Minimum 1 year experience working with a board‑certified surgeon or equivalent experience.
- Advanced skills in safe restraint and patient care.
- Advanced skills in anesthesia protocols, induction, monitoring, ventilator, and recovery.
- In‑depth understanding of operating room protocols.
- Ability to remain calm in high‑pressure situations.
- Willingness to work additional hours as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical: able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with patients and owners.
- Works well both collaboratively and independently.
