Full-Time opportunity in Austin, Texas
Schedule: 3-4 days a week
Join an established Critical Care department at one of Austin’s leading multi-specialty and emergency hospitals. At AVES, you’ll work alongside a collaborative team of experienced criticalists, emergency clinicians, specialists, and highly skilled support staff, providing exceptional care to some of the most complex and critically ill patients.
With a 24/7 emergency service and multiple specialty departments under one roof, you’ll have the opportunity to practice truly collaborative medicine in a state-of-the-art facility. The Critical Care team is supported by a dedicated ICU with advanced monitoring capabilities, high-flow oxygen therapy, a wide range of blood products, and access to advanced diagnostic imaging and specialty support.

In your day-to-day, you will:
- Manage high-acuity emergency and ICU patients, including triage and stabilization
- Lead or participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to protocol development
- Perform advanced therapies (e.g., mechanical ventilation, high-flow oxygen) based on available equipment
- Support program growth initiatives such as blood bank services or residency development
- Engage in ongoing CE and mentorship opportunities, including POCUS and echocardiography training
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
- Board Certification in Emergency & Critical Care or Residency Trained in Emergency & Critical Care.
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
- A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
