ETC, a global leader in entertainment and architectural lighting, currently has an opening for a Product Assurance Specialist (PAS) in the R&D Live Event Controls department onsite at our Austin, TX location. We are seeking individuals who love to program lighting control consoles and have a passion for production‑grade, world‑class software that solves real‑world challenges pushed by live production. Our flagship console line, the Hog Family, is found in concert venues, film studios, houses of worship, and touring‑shows of all levels.
As a PAS, you’ll work on the Hog Family platform, testing a variety of hardware platforms and features. The Hog Family of consoles can be run standalone or in combination to create a networked system of control for small or large venue and show situations.

RepresentativeResponsibilities
- Gain knowledge on a specific product(s) within a product family
- Develop Product Assurance Plans for a specific product(s)
- Analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports
- Support the product development and maintenance release process through validation testing to assure the quality of the product
- Execute test scenarios to uncover product design defects
- Report product defects via defect tracking database, following defects to resolution
- Acquire and maintain test equipment
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers
- Perform assigned project tasks under the supervision of a more senior‑level Product Assurance Specialist
- Participate in the ISO on‑the‑job training
- With assistance, provide task completion time estimates
- Become familiar with tools and applications utilized within R&D
- Become familiar with a specific product family within R&D
- Learn department and corporate policies, procedures, and plans
- Schedule and attend identified training classes
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Complete special projects and assignments in a positive and timely manner
- Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree in Electronics with 0–3 years of related work experience
- Experience in a team environment
- Demonstrates basic written and verbal skills
- Listens and gives constructive feedback
- Good group interaction skills
- Works effectively as a team member
- Ability to follow directions and project plans
- Grasp technical concepts and asks for clarification and direction when needed
- Demonstrates basic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to execute pre‑written Product Assurance programs for a given product
- Understands and applies best practices for Product Assurance
