1st Shift Quality Technicians

Volt is immediately hiring Quality Technicians in Round Rock & Pflugerville TX.

We are seeking Quality Technicians with related experience. Great company culture/overtime/air-conditioned environment.

As a Quality Technician, you will:

  • Responsible for performing product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs, first article inspections and calibration, inspecting flat blank layouts, out of box audit (OBA) and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials.
  • Ensures raw materials, in process and finished products meet company standards.
  • Requires the ability to utilize charts, tables and specifications, and operate a variety of measuring instruments. Basic understanding of typical quality tools, such as 8d, statistical process control, FEMA and control plans.
  • Audits processes, tests and inspects products and/or develops, compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
  • Work with engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause analysis, internal corrective actions and supplier correction actions.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Selects processes to be audited primarily the manufacturing areas and checks for a variety of features, including ESD (electro-static discharge) and handling practices, documentation, training and process integrity.
  • Selects products for audits at specified stages in the production or post-production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical, electrical or cosmetic characteristics.
  • Records audit data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards, programs or reports to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Perform calibration on inspection tools e.g. micrometers, calipers height gages etc.
  • Maintain gage track program, print list of gages due for calibration in the beginning of each month and follow up with calibration.
  • Send gages out for calibration, maintain calibration records
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.
  • Download quality information from quality system to be used for QA reports.
  • Analyzes engineering test results and implements process changes to resolve problems.
  • Performs out of box audits (OBA) as required
  • Provides factory support to identify and resolve issues associated with purchased parts, materials and manufacturing.
  • Proactively assists supervisor in reaching goal/targets of line or department.

This is a full-time opportunity, with OT opportunity itions are in Round Rock & Pflugerville TX.

1st Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday – Friday) - Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour

1st Shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm: (Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat) – Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2+ years of related experience.
  • Excellent computer skills & Excel
  • Ability to read/write/communicate in English
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: ASQ certification as CQT, CQA, CQPA or CSSGB is a plus.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, walk and stand on your feet throughout the shift.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Successful completion of company provided training may be required
  • ISO/FDA auditing experience a plus.

Pay rate: $20.50 per hour
