Position Summary
Senior GPU Design Verification Engineer – GCDV responsible for verifying the top‑level graphics core for Samsung’s next‑generation mobile GPU at Samsung Austin Research and Development Center (SARC) and Advanced Computing Lab (ACL).
Role and ResponsibilitiesContribute to the verification strategy and hands‑on validation for cutting‑edge GPU designs, ensuring functional correctness, performance integrity, and architectural intent. Develop comprehensive verification plans, define goals, coverage metrics, and sign‑off criteria aligned with architectural specifications and product requirements. Build and maintain scalable verification test benches using System Verilog and C++, applying constrained‑random testing, coverage‑driven verification, and assertion‑based techniques. Create sophisticated test scenarios that stress full graphics pipelines, covering command processing, front‑end, shader cores, rasterization, and fixed‑function units.
Analyze complex debug and issue resolution across multiple GPU domains, identify root causes, and collaborate proactively to maintain alignment with architectural intent and evolving software usage models. Lead moderate‑to‑complex projects, advance best practices, and stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or completion of a Master’s Degree or Ph.D.).
- Minimum 2+ years of hands‑on experience with GPU, CPU, or advanced semiconductor design verification.
- Working knowledge of computer architecture and graphics pipelines.
- Experience in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
- Hands‑on experience with System Verilog, including constrained‑random testing, functional coverage, and assertions.
- Familiarity with GPU architecture and design principles.
- Understanding of computer graphics concepts, including 3D graphics, shaders, and graphics APIs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast‑paced, global team environment.
The GPU Design Verification team owns test plan coverage for Samsung’s mobile GPU across three levels:
Graphic Code, Subsystem Verification, and Formal Verification. As a geographically dispersed team, you’ll collaborate with internal teams to ensure GPU architectural designs and modules work cohesively across the board, gaining exposure to multiple aspects of the development cycle.
Base pay for this exempt position ranges from $124,000 to $208,400, depending on education, skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. Additional compensation includes MBO bonus, potential long‑term incentive plan participation, and relocation assistance.
