We’re supporting a growing space technology organisation in Austin with the appointment of a Quality Assurance Associate
. This is a hands‑on opportunity to work with high‑reliability electronic assemblies and finished products used across space and airborne applications.

The Role

Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, you’ll support inspection, metrology, calibration, nonconformance management, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities Will Include
  • Inspecting components, assemblies, and finished products against drawings, specifications, and approved procedures.
  • Performing dimensional measurements using calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, CMMs, VMMs, and related equipment.
  • Programming and operating automated inspection equipment.
  • Supporting calibration and metrology activities across Quality, Production, and Test.
  • Managing and supporting the disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Driving root cause analysis, corrective actions, and 8D investigations.
  • Developing and improving inspection methods, plans, procedures, and quality processes.
  • Supporting measurement system analysis (MSA) and quality data analysis.
  • Producing quality metrics and reporting to support operational decision‑making.
  • Supporting internal, customer, and regulatory audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Collaborating cross‑functionally to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
  • 5–8 years of experience within manufacturing quality, metrology, or failure analysis.
  • Experience with in aerospace, electronics, defense, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using CMMs, metrology arms, Keyence systems, or similar inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, specifications, and detailed work instructions.
  • Experience with microscopic visual inspection.
  • Strong understanding of quality processes, nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
Desirable

J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification would be advantageous.

Export Control Requirements

Due to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or otherwise eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorization.

The position offers the opportunity to join a highly technical, collaborative environment working on advanced communications hardware for satellite, UAV, launch vehicle, and other aerospace applications.
