VP of Land Acquisition and Development

A growing residential land development company is seeking a Vice President of Land Acquisition & Development to lead the identification, acquisition, entitlement, and development of residential land opportunities across a high-growth Texas market. This is a senior leadership position with significant responsibility for building the company's land pipeline, developing relationships with landowners and homebuilders, evaluating new opportunities, and overseeing projects from initial acquisition through finished lots.

This role will lead the identification, acquisition, entitlement, and development of residential land opportunities across a high-growth Texas market, with responsibility for building the land pipeline, managing relationships, evaluating new opportunities, and overseeing projects from initial acquisition through finished lots.

• Lead the identification and acquisition of residential land opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, brokers, developers, homebuilders, municipalities, consultants, and other industry partners.
• Evaluate potential acquisitions, including market conditions, land values, development costs, financial feasibility, and risk.
• Lead negotiations, contracts, due diligence, and closing processes.
• Oversee entitlement and development strategies from initial concept through finished lots.
• Coordinate with civil engineers, consultants, attorneys, municipalities, and other third parties.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, development costs, and overall project execution.
• Build and maintain a long-term land pipeline aligned with company growth objectives.
• Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and other development structures.
• Provide senior leadership with recommendations regarding acquisitions, dispositions, development strategies, and market opportunities.
• Help establish and expand the company's presence in targeted Texas markets.

• 10+ years of experience in residential land acquisition, land development, homebuilding, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience acquiring and/or developing residential land.
• Strong understanding of the residential development and homebuilding process.
• Established relationships with landowners, brokers, homebuilders, municipalities, and industry professionals.
• Experience evaluating land acquisitions and development economics.
• Strong negotiation, financial analysis, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously.
• Bachelor's degree in real estate, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

• Demonstrated experience acquiring and/or developing residential land.
• Strong understanding of the residential development and homebuilding process.
• Established relationships with landowners, brokers, homebuilders, municipalities, and industry professionals.
• Experience evaluating land acquisitions and development economics.
• Strong negotiation, financial analysis, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously.
