ARVR Research Intern

Job Description

Futurewei has multiple openings for ARVR Research Intern. Candidates will be responsible

• Conduct Research in one of the areas of spatial computing, distributed architecture, computer vision, graphic rendering, avatar animation, AI/ML modeling, and other technical areas related to XR and Metaverse.
• A specific research topic will be identified in the above area, and aimed for independent research work that is suitable for academic publication of IEEE journals or/and conferences.
• Work closely with other team members, jointly prototype, implement and evaluate algorithms; and optimize application or algorithm performance through analysis, code refactoring, and system tuning.
• Some industrial and academic collaboration, and professional community involvement.

• Working towards MS & PhD in Computer Science, EE, or related field
• Proven experience in academic research and publication
• Strong knowledge in software development in related fields with hands‑on experiences
• Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++, Python
• Proficient in AI/ML, ideally familiar with some LLMs and image models such as SAM.
• Knowledge and hands‑on experience in ARVR system, computer graphic, computer vision, or machine learning algorithms is a strong plus
• Experience in using common ML models is desired, particularly with LLMs, digital human models, and image and video models.
• Industrial experience a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and teamwork abilities
• Eagerness to learn new technologies
