* Participate in multi-day field expeditions as needed
* Manage day-to-day operations of the BRG Tree-Ring Laboratory, which includes a high-resolution 'Skippy' image capture system and specialized tree-ring analysis software

* Write scientific reports and peer-reviewed publications to disseminate research findings
* Identify funding opportunities and lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals and budgets to federal, state, and nonprofit agencies
Required Qualifications
* Ph.D. in geosciences or a related field, with an emphasis on dendrochronology and tree-ring research. PhD must have been obtained within 3 years from the date of hire.
* Record of peer-reviewed publications related to one or more of the following: tree-ring studies, paleo climate reconstruction, hydrology, or hydroclimatic variability.
* Experience with tree-ring analysis software (e.g., Coo Recorder, CDendro, dplR, or similar).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary research teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with streamflow reconstructions, quantitative wood anatomy, and bald cypress chronologies.
* Background in dendrochemistry. BRG is applying isotopes to tree-ring records using state-of-the-art geochemistry laboratories at the Jackson School of Geosciences.
* Familiarity with or interest in Holocene paleo climate, hydrology, emerging contaminants, or sustainable urban systems as aligned with BRG ongoing research projects.
* Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary research settings.
* Experience mentoring or supervising students in research or laboratory environments.
