General Role Expectations
- Demonstrate critical thinking beyond explicit business requests.
- Operate independently on all operational research tasks.
- Lead core end‑to‑end research activities, including driving objectives, hypotheses, methodology, execution, analysis, and communication.
Research Skills
- Exercise good judgement when evaluating research opportunities for importance, urgency, and impact.
- Challenge details of research requests and propose solid research solutions.
- Execute projects effectively while continually expanding breadth and depth of abilities.
- Apply quantitative and qualitative research methods, triangulating findings, methods, and theories.
- Use tools and inspection methods to quantify the value and efficiency of research.
- Adapt well‑established methods to product/project situations and innovate new methods with senior researchers.
- Quickly learn key software tools commonly used in the field.
- Maintain data compliance and ethics in all activities.
Collaboration & Communication
- Drive cross‑discipline collaboration through research insights and activities.
- Collaborate efficiently with other researchers and disciplines, ensuring clear commitments for shared ownership.
- Communicate concisely for different audiences, tailoring style, and remaining open to input and feedback.
Research Community Contributions
- Contribute to the research community by sharing work, coaching or mentoring junior researchers, and screening research candidates.
- Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Human‑Computer Interaction, Information Science, Psychology, Social Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in consumer‑facing business domains.
- Comfortable with planning, scoping, conducting, analyzing, and communicating research.
- Experience with qualitative and user‑centered design methods (interviews, diary studies, observations, usability testing).
- Experience with quantitative research, including metrics, survey design, sampling, and statistical concepts.
- Experience evaluating, negotiating, and working with external research vendors.
- Ability to describe user problems and business opportunities to stakeholders using data.
- Demonstrate critical thinking beyond business requests.
- Excellent storytelling and communication skills, fluent in English.
- Enjoy collaborative work in a dynamic, data‑driven and creative environment.
