Research Engineering/Scientist Assistant
General NotesInitial assignment will be for one year. Subsequent renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.
PurposePerform research experiments and assist in mouse colony management.
Responsibilities- Perform experiments relating to electrophysiological and biochemical assays measuring ion channel function.
- Collaborate with other lab personnel on projects.
- Assist in mouse colony management and train other lab personnel in lab techniques and mouse colony management as needed.
- Read scientific literature, write parts of manuscripts, attend seminars/lab meetings, present research at internal and external conferences.
- Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or related field
- Experience with mouse handling and behavioral assays
- Experience with genotyping and PCR
- At least two years of wet lab experience
- Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology
