Laboratory Technician
Our client, a leading organization in the optical and manufacturing industry, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be part of the Expanded Beam Optics lab supporting research, development, and quality control initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and excellent manual dexterity, which will align successfully in the organization.
Location:
Austin, TX (100% onsite)
Pay Range: $18 to $20
Duration: 12 month contract
What's the Job?- Prepare materials and organize for product testing to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
- Assist in laboratory experiments through testing and evaluation of new materials and products based on research.
- Perform optical and mechanical performance tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products.
- Conduct visual observations on product samples from competitors and communicate test results to the appropriate requester.
- Handle hands-on testing with multiple pieces of equipment, including moving, arranging, sorting, and hanging product testing weights (2lbs-20lbs).
- At least 1 year of experience as a Lab Tech or in a related position.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds and perform high-repetition lifting of 5-pound weights.
- Proficiency in using ladders or step stools to work from elevated surfaces.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- High school diploma; college degree in sciences preferred.
