Research Program Coordinator
The Research Program Coordinator will work within a Space geodesy research at UTCSR is supported by multiple research grants and contracts from NASA, DoD, and industry, each lasting from anywhere to two to twenty years. The work for each project engages faculty, professional research staff, and graduate and undergraduate students. Each staff member contributes to multiple projects, with assignments changing over time.
This mix requires active research program coordination across people and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with discovery, planning, budgeting, writing and formatting of grant proposal submissions.
- Prepare templates and write reports and other correspondence related to the research and program in accordance with grant guidelines, collating technical contributions from researchers.
- Assist with labor allocation and budget tracking across multiple grants/contracts.
- Develop research program guidelines/activities and provides recommendations for improvement.
- Discover and report on work by peers in blogs, websites, and trade articles.
- May participate in the writing and editing process of manuscripts for submission to scientific journals.
- Other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degrees in related field.
- Three (3) years of experience of coordinatoring or administrating a program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. in STEM or Liberal Arts in technical disciplines.
- More than three years of experience in research program coordination.
- Experience with composition using MS Office and LaTex.
- Experience with MS Excel tools for planning.
- Strong verbal communication, technical writing and teamwork skills.
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results, and to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Prior work experience in higher education with particularly in STEM or research operation.
Salary Range: $50,000+ depending on qualifications and experience.
Working Conditions:
- May work around standard office conditions.
- Climbing of stairs.
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation, manual dexterity (ex: using a mouse).
- Work Shift:
Monday – Friday, typical office hours plus occasional after-hours work.
