Postdoctoral Fellow
The Latino Research Institute (LRI) at UT Austin seeks a postdoctoral research fellow in the area of public policy. The ideal candidate will have a track record in both academic and public-facing publications, as well as research experience in one of the following policy areas: health, criminal justice, public and higher education, or energy. Candidate should hold a PhD in a field such as Political Science, Public Policy, Criminology, Economics, Latino Studies, Sociology, Education, Public Health, Social Work, or Communication.
Responsibilities- Conduct primary and secondary source research; prepare academic journal articles, policy briefs, white papers, and/or op-eds for public outlets.
- Meet regularly with supervisor and research team; participate in the intellectual life of the Institutes.
All requirements for the PhD completed by August 15, 2026, but PhD completed no more than three years prior to the start date.
Preferred QualificationsPhD in Political Science, Public Policy, Criminology, Economics, Latino Studies, Sociology, Education, Public Health, Social Work, or Communication.
Salary Range$75,000
Working ConditionsFellow will share an office with other fellows. Fellow will be required to be in-residence for the duration of the one-year appointment.
