Provides support to the Associate Vice President for Research, Research Integrity Officer.
Responsibilities- Assists the RIO in carrying out research misconduct cases in accordance with federal and university policies.
- Partners with VPR stakeholders to develop a principle-based approach to research integrity and ethics, improve communications and transparency in the research and publication process.
- Develops and establishes processes for research misconduct‑related policies and procedures, assessing their consistency with peer institutions.
- Coordinates with the RIO to select technical experts and investigative committee members, provides training and administrative support throughout the process.
- Strategically manages the RIO calendar and related logistics, prepares agendas, minutes and reports.
- Prepares correspondence, reports and memoranda with limited direction.
- Collaborates among university entities and provides documentation, resources and processes as needed.
- Other related functions as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of responsible level experience in program administration or program coordination.
- Ability to build strong trusting relationships with faculty, scientists, postdocs, students, and administrators.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to manage a multifaceted research ethics portfolio.
- Strong attention to detail, effective planning and organizational skills, knowledge of research ethics and competency with Microsoft Office 365 and other PC applications.
- Innovation and independent judgement; willingness to take initiative in developing the portfolio across disciplines and maintaining confidentiality.
- Advanced degree in social sciences, social work or related discipline.
- Experience in a confidential role such as graduate coordinator or advisor.
- Coursework, training, or previous position involving research ethics or ethical dilemmas.
- Experience handling research misconduct cases or working in a research support office.
$55,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions- May work around standard office conditions.

- Use of manual dexterity.
