Postdoctoral Fellow – Nuclear Engineering Teaching Lab

Department: Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering

Location: PICKLE RESEARCH CAMPUS

Hours: 40 per week, exempt

Start: Immediately / Until Sep 01, 2024

Purpose

The Postdoctoral Fellow conducts research in mobile manipulation for handling material in nuclear and/or hazardous environments.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out research in applied robotics for use in extreme environments (nuclear, oil & gas, military, or other applications).
  • Co‑author peer‑reviewed research papers.
  • Collaborate with group members and the Principal Investigator to define research scope.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field earned within past three years with research in robotics or software for complex systems.
  • Experience preparing proposals and peer‑reviewed technical papers.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and sponsors.
