Job Details

This position is for a research scientist in the Ehrlich lab. Primary responsibilities will be performing experiments to identify and test mechanisms underlying age-associated changes in the thymus microenvironment and consequences for T-cell development and selection. The scientist will analyze and present resulting data and contribute to writing manuscripts/ grant proposals. Duties will include management of a mouse colony and some administrative tasks, such as ordering and receiving supplies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform experiments and data analysis to identify and test mechanisms underlying age-associated changes in the thymus microenvironment and consequences for T-cell development and selection. Present data in lab meetings and prepare figures for presentations/ manuscripts/ grant proposals related to this research.
  • Manage mouse colony used for research and maintain associated animal database; breed and genotype assigned strains; manage daily communications with ARC staff for this colony.
  • Order reagents for these studies, as needed.
Required Qualifications

Master's degree with two years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with four years of experience. Experience with conventional and spectral flow cytometry and cell sorting; experience managing a mouse colony, including breeding and genotyping; prior experience with tissue cryosectioning/ paraffin sectioning, immunostaining, and imaging; experience with molecular assays, such as qRT-PCR.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with other immunology techniques, including ELISAs, western blots, and mammalian cell culture.

Salary Range

$55,000+ depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility
