Laboratory Technician

A biotechnology company is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Lab Technician to join its team of scientists, engineers, and business operators. Working under the guidance of experienced biologists, the Lab Technician will gain hands-on experience in protein research and development, contributing to ongoing projects and supporting protein research activities across the lab.

• Prepare and maintain buffers, reagents, and other laboratory solutions
• Prepare and sterilize culture media
• Grow bacterial cultures for various experiments
• Perform transformations
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including electrophoresis chambers, centrifuges, sterilizers, and spectrophotometers
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Author and update SOPs as needed
• Document all experimental procedures, results, and observations meticulously
• Collaborate with team members to optimize purification processes and troubleshoot issues
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
• Assist with ordering and inventory management of laboratory supplies

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, or a related field
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting
• Experience with protein purification techniques and relevant laboratory equipment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures

• Ability to pivot between tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to support interdisciplinary efforts across teams
