General Manager

Soon to open Switchback Coffee + Beer in South Austin is looking for a General Manager to oversee daily operations, staff performance, and guest experience. This role ensures exceptional service, consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and a clean, welcoming environment. The Manager leads hiring and training efforts, supports scheduling, manages inventory, and collaborates on menu development while maintaining compliance with all safety and health standards.

They will work closely with both owners (Grace and mostly Ethan) to collaborate on business related items and day-to-day operations.

We will be going in the same complex as the new Crux Climbing Center and share a courtyard with Granny’s Tacos. We will be serving up Sightseer beans, Barrett’s beans, local beer, low ABV cocktails, and Texas French Bread pastries.

• Previous café, bar, or hospitality management experience preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Knowledge of coffee and/or bar operations
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Basic computer and POS proficiency
• Enjoys working in a collaborative environment – things are not black/white
• On site 30-35hrs/week
• Enjoys outdoors, dogs, and events that collaborate with the community
