- As Cook III, responsible for preparing food according to recipe specifications and ensuring the overall success of daily culinary operations.
- Ensure all ingredients used in dishes are of the highest quality.
- Work well under pressure and maintain restaurant standards during busy periods.
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools safely and as intended.
- Comply with all departmental/hotel policies and procedures; meet with the Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to performance.
- Complete opening duties: set up workstations, inspect cleanliness, check production schedule and pars, establish priority items, transport supplies, inspect workstation organization, start prep work, select and prepare fruits and vegetables.
- Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Sous Chef to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Maintain proper storage procedures, minimize waste, disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables.
- Assist stewards and perform cleanup tasks, break down workstations, complete closing duties according to department standards.
- Assist with inventories, assist in plating up banquet hot meals, restock items.
- Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule, perform duties in other kitchen areas as assigned, attend designated meetings.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and professionalism, follow exact directions, acknowledge and assist in producing quality food, execute recipes after training.
- Understand importance of ingredients and following directions, operate all kitchen equipment correctly and safely, clean safely and return parts to machines.
- Dependable, tolerates stress, positive demeanor, adaptable/flexible, presentable, full of integrity, takes initiative.
- Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen; report any maintenance problems or safety hazards; complete safety training and certifications.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards; maintain uniform and personal appearance.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; embody the 1 Hotels Vision, Mission and Compass.
- At least 2 years of related work experience.
- Organized and proficient at multitasking.
- A reliable team player willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Food Handling certification (can be obtained during employment).
