Position: Retail Store Management Trainee - 2502

Overview

$16.00 to $26.48 per hour. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. This role requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. The Store Manager Trainee is accountable for day-to-day store operations and promoting a positive/productive environment. This role partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction. This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.

The Store Manager Trainee analyzes store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met and participates in asset protection and customer acquisition efforts. Work includes handling a variety of merchandise and services, including jewelry, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more. Compensation includes hourly pay plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store; count cash drawers and merchandise; follow procedures to protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control and safety procedures.
  • Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, and reporting.
  • Evaluate store financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes for value and integrity of loans.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
  • Communicate store mission and profit objectives to employees; stay up-to-date on product knowledge.
  • The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Eligibility to assist customers on exterior areas and to retrieve products stored in exterior locations.
  • Minimum Age: 18;
    High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as needed; flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Store Manager Trainee will work 45+ hours per week; hours are not guaranteed.
