Overview

Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our team. Compensation ranges from $14.00 to $18.00 per hour, with an easily achievable commission structure tied to transactions.

Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $1.79 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate collaborates with store staff to ensure customer service on both lending and retail sides of the business. Responsibilities include greeting, engaging, and assisting customers with sales, loans, and other transactions, resolving inquiries, and maintaining a positive customer experience. Associates will work with a variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Actual pay varies by location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and interact with customers to build rapport and recommend financial solutions.
  • Perform non-management open/close procedures.
  • Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays maintained.
  • Process sales and loan transactions per policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle cash and negotiable items per policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Answer incoming calls per company standards.
  • Explain legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers, and participate in a positive team environment.
  • Complete required training and perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods as required by law.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Ability to assist customers outdoors or retrieve products stored in exterior areas if needed.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work with people and be team-oriented; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations; prior cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations as needed and schedule flexibility including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on personal gross profit. More details are provided during the interview process.
