Senior Allocation Analyst Role ProfilePosition Summary:
The Senior Allocation Analyst is an exempt role reporting to the Vice President of Merchandising and is accountable for optimizing inventory deployment across channels and locations to maximize sales, margin, and inventory productivity. This role translates merchandising strategy, financial plans, and demand signals into effective allocation and replenishment decisions that support in‑stock performance while minimizing excess inventory exposure.
The Senior Allocation Analyst owns in‑season inventory flow by proactively analyzing selling performance, inventory levels, and replenishment opportunities to improve sell‑through, maintain presentation standards, and support customer demand. This role partners closely with merchants and retail operations to identify inventory risks, improve inventory productivity, and drive disciplined inventory decisions across the product lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities & Achievements:- Inventory Deployment Ownership
- Own the allocation of inventory across channels and locations to maximize sell‑through and minimize excess inventory.
- In‑Season Inventory Optimization
- Drive inventory productivity through proactive rebalancing, replenishment decisions, and size‑level adjustments that improve full‑price sell‑through.
- Demand‑Aligned Inventory Positioning
- Ensure inventory levels by location, channel, and size align to demand patterns, improving in‑stock rates and reducing stockouts and overexposure.
- Translate merchant intent and financial targets into effective allocation decisions that support category and portfolio performance.
- Inventory Risk Identification & Action
- Proactively identify inventory risks and take action to mitigate their impact on sales, margin and inventory health.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain, merchandising, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in allocation, replenishment, or inventory planning, within omnichannel retail, preferably apparel or specialty retail.
- Strong proficiency in retail math including sell‑through, weeks of supply, turn, stock‑to‑sales ratio, and inventory productivity metrics.
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, data modeling, and reporting analysis.
- Experience with ERP and inventory planning systems;
Net Suite preferred. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable inventory decisions.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple inventory workflows in a fast‑paced retail environment.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of the relationship between inventory decisions and financial performance.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
