The Beauty Counter Manager plays a dual role – part salesperson, part teacher – while maximizing sales in their assigned beauty brand. Ideal candidates are results‑oriented, thrive in a commissioned sales environment, are passionate about beauty trends, and can build a customer following both in‑store and digitally.
A day in the life- Conduct makeup applications, skincare analyses, and recommend products based on customer goals.
- Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers.
- Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals, utilizing both in‑store and digital selling tools.
- Manage the scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to maximize business results.
- Keep the department customer‑ready through organization and cleanliness.
- Stay up to date with the latest beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through trainings provided by Nordstrom and luxury brand partners.
- Manage sales, refunds, exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
- Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare.
- Excellent ability to connect with customers, proactively handle concerns, and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Empathy and respect for all customers, providing a supportive environment during makeup and skincare application.
- Strong multitasking, organization, and follow‑through skills.
- Drive to achieve sales goals, with interest in using networking and technology.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
- Physical Requirements:
- Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head.
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Pay$22.05 – $22.95 hourly. Pay offers are dependent on location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. These positions may be eligible for performance‑based incentives/bonuses.
