Responsibilities- Greet all customers on the sales floor with courtesy and a smile
- Grow personal sales by hitting minimum goals and following Scheels professional salesmanship standards to provide an above and beyond customer experience
- Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and clearly explain all benefits
- Engage in conversation with customers and assist them in making buying decisions
- Demonstrate a passion for products in the store
- Attend all Scheels product training and all store meetings
- Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
- Assist in all other assigned duties
- Perform basic math (compute rate, ratio, percent; draw and interpret bar graphs)
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings to customers and employees
- Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Possess strong oral/written communication and reading skills to communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all levels of the organization
- Willing to help with freight/stocking when needed
- Demonstrate product usage within the shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft
- Genuinely and consistently treat co‑workers, customers and business partners with eye contact, a smile and a genuine "Thank you"
- Approach daily tasks, projects and follow‑up communication with energy and a sense of urgency
- Cultivate a deep desire to become a knowledge expert in your role and apply knowledge and experience with great impact

- Arrive to work and meetings 10 minutes early

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and/or 1‑3 months of sales experience. This candidate must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements / Lifting RequirementsMust be able to sit, stand, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavy work includes exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
ScheduleThis position includes 1‑2 nights a week, Monday through Friday, 5:00–9:00 P.M., and every other weekend. Saturday shifts vary between 9:00 A.M.–9:00 P.M. and Sundays 11:00 A.M.–7:00 P.M. Two 1.5‑hour product knowledge meetings per month are required. The average work commitment is 15‑20 hours per week.
CompensationHourly rate: $16, which includes personal sales commission and a base hourly wage.
