The Outlet Sales Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service as a first point of contact for the Outlet customers. Additionally, this position has cash handling responsibilities. This position partners with team members in a fast‑paced environment to expedite merchandise to and from Outlet sales floor; and provides operational support to the management team.
Role and Responsibilities- Provideprofessionaland friendly customer service support by greeting customers and explaining store/outlet layout.
- Accuratelyhandle cash, including, butnot limited to,making change, operatingandmaintainingthe cash register and credit cardmachine,and usingacalculator when needed.
- Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customer’s questions courteously and promptly.
- Maintain Outlet sorting tables stocked with merchandise, keep floor merchandise neat and orderly (furniture), and assist customers with purchase selection/pricing if requested.
- Maintaina professional appearance andadhere to Goodwill uniformstandards.
- Adhereto work schedule set by supervisor.
- Maintainanorderlyand clean register area.
- Maintainfamiliaritywith store securityprocedures andexercise securitypractices when necessary.
- Perform Outletstore upkeep duties as needed to include sweeping, mopping and wiping production tables.
- Occasionally,assist donors and customers outside of the Outlet,greet donors, receivedonations,and supply donors with receipts.
- Communicatesourmission and vision effectively to our donorsandcustomers.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
- A minimum ofsixmonths of previous work experience, or the equivalent educational orvocational experience preferred.
- Abilityto understand English and interact with customersandemployees.
- Abilityto provide exceptional customer service toallof our customers.
- Abilitytoperformbasic mathcomputations (e.g., computingpercentages).
- Abilityto workwellunder pressure and maintain accuracy.
- Basic working knowledge ofcomputerapplications andtheinternet.
- Willing and able to adapt tomultipledemandsandshiftingpriorities.
- Ability to work flexible hours and days including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
- The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a telephone and keyboard.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
