Main responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Assistant Store Director supports the Store Director in the overall leadership, operation, and performance of the store. This position assists in driving sales, profitability, customer service, operational excellence, and employee engagement while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Store Director serves as a leader and role model for all associates and helps develop future store leaders.
Store Operations & Performance:
- Assist in managing daily store operations to ensure an efficient and profitable business.
- Support execution of company initiatives, merchandising programs, and operational objectives.
- Monitor store conditions to ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards are maintained.
- Review key performance metrics and help implement action plans to achieve sales and profitability goals.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet customer and operational needs.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, coach, and develop department managers and store associates.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes engagement and accountability.
- Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and retention efforts.
- Conduct performance coaching and assist with performance evaluations.
- Identify and develop high-potential employees for advancement opportunities.
Customer Service:
- Promote a customer-first culture throughout the store.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure associates provide exceptional service and maintain positive customer interactions.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and implement improvement strategies when needed.
Financial Management:
- Assist in achieving sales, labor, shrink, and expense targets.
- Review financial reports and operational data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Support inventory management processes to minimize loss and improve profitability.
- Help ensure accurate execution of pricing, promotions, and inventory controls.
Safety, Compliance & Asset Protection:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, OSHA requirements, and other regulatory guidelines.
- Promote workplace safety and promptly address hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Support asset protection initiatives designed to reduce shrink and prevent loss.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and merchandising of products.
Community & Company Engagement:
- Represent the company professionally within the community.
- Support community engagement programs and company-sponsored initiatives.
- Promote company values and maintain a positive store culture.
