The Stylist is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX, responsible for delivering personalized styling and exceptional customer service in the store. Day-to-day tasks include greeting and engaging customers, identifying their needs, and recommending outfits and pieces that align with their lifestyle and preferences. The Stylist will maintain merchandising standards, assist with dressing rooms, manage inventory on the sales floor, and ensure the store environment is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
This role also supports sales transactions, special orders, and client follow-up, including building long-term relationships through clienteling and thoughtful communication. The Stylist collaborates closely with the store team to meet sales goals, participate in styling for events or social media content, and represent the Kick Pleat brand with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Focus on achieving monthly sales targets
- Strong customer service and clienteling skills, with the ability to build trusting, long-term relationships and provide personalized styling guidance.
- Demonstrated interest in fashion and styling, including an eye for fit, fabric, and quality, and the ability to curate cohesive looks for diverse body types and personal styles.
- Retail experience in apparel or luxury goods, with familiarity in point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and basic sales reporting.
- Ability to maintain visual merchandising standards, including organizing racks, displays, and stock rooms to reflect brand aesthetics.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and management.
- Ability to work under pressure, responsible, is highly organized, uses initiative and works proactively.
- Reliability in a full-time, on-site schedule, including weekends and peak retail periods including holidays as needed.
- Previous experience in high-end or boutique retail and knowledge of contemporary and designer brands is preferred.
