Manager, Technical Solutions (Sales Engineers & Solutions Architects)

As a Technical Solutions Team (TST) Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our North America technical sales & partnerships strategy while ensuring the successful execution of complex initiatives. You will lead a group of Sales Engineers and Solutions Architects who work together to empower our customers to achieve their business goals through the use of Word Press and WP Engine products.

You will remove obstacles for the Technical Solutions Team and empower individuals to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive business growth and customer success. Working at the intersection of people and technology, you will play a huge role in mentorship and career development while also helping the team make informed technical decisions.

You will be responsible for leading a team of North America Sales Engineers & Solutions Architects who are as passionate about WP Engine products as they are about having management that supports their career growth. This includes:

  • Servant Leadership:
    Be a servant‑leader by empowering Technical Solutions teams and helping remove impediments that reduce their ability to be effective.
  • Standards & Process:
    Encourage and drive the implementation of solutioning standards. Identify issues that teams might overlook, such as communication gaps, team focus, KPIs, and business goal alignment.
  • GTM Strategy &

    Collaboration:

    Maintain strong relationships with Sales Leadership to successfully align team Goals and KPIs with sales goals and ever‑changing business needs. Assist with key deal review and strategy.
  • Product Strategy & Feedback:
    Partner with Product & Engineering teams on the WP Engine product vision and strategy, and give feedback on the content and prioritization of the product roadmap.
  • Team Development:
    Develop TST abilities and help find areas of subject matter expertise to help them independently thrive and play to their strengths. Identify areas for improvement and build coaching plans for individual team members.
  • Performance Management:
    Perform reviews via regular 1:1s with each team member, along with goal setting based on the performance needs of the business. Set clear KPIs for the team and implement a data‑driven approach to ensure key metrics are tracked effectively.
  • Talent Acquisition:
    Lead the recruitment and hiring of outstanding sales engineers who reinforce our core values and add to the culture.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Spend time gaining hands‑on familiarity with WP Engine products.
Your Expertise and Passion
  • Sales Engineering Leadership:
    Proven Pre‑Sales Solutions management experience in software or web enablement environments; and familiarity with sales methodologies & frameworks (i.e. MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, Sandler, Value‑Based selling, etc.)
  • Process Engineering:
    Experience in building and implementing new processes to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Technical Background:
    Experience in technical roles or hands‑on experience architecting or engineering technical solutions for specific customer needs.
  • AI Proficiency:
    Proficiency in AI tools and an understanding of how to leverage them for sales engineering workflows.
  • Career Aspirations:
    Clear aspirations to grow into a senior leadership role within the organization.
  • Communication:
    Excellent written and verbal communicator with outstanding social skills, maintaining a highly professional persona and polished demeanor.
